GRTforms vs Microsoft Forms

Microsoft Forms is the survey and quiz tool included with many Microsoft 365 plans. It is a natural default when answers should stay in Excel, Teams, or SharePoint. GRTforms is a standalone host: you do not need a Microsoft 365 seat to publish a form. You get 24 field types, conditional logic, multi-step, signatures, and a submissions table with Excel / CSV / PDF export. This page does not list Microsoft 365 prices. Notes about Microsoft Forms are qualitative and dated October 2026.

Keep Microsoft Forms for internal quizzes inside 365. Use GRTforms when the form is a public page you brand, protect, and export on your own host.

Frequently asked questions

Do respondents need a Microsoft account?

Not for a GRTforms public form. Microsoft Forms can be limited to organization accounts depending on how the owner configured it.

Can I export to Excel?

GRTforms exports selected or filtered rows to Excel, CSV, or PDF. That is a download, not a live Excel Online workbook.

Is there a Teams app?

No GRTforms Teams app is shipped. If the form must live inside Teams, Microsoft Forms is the native option.

Does GRTforms grade quizzes?

No quiz scoring engine is shipped. Use star rating, radio, or NPS-style templates for feedback — not classroom grading.
