Grant Interest

Nonprofit

Nonprofits

Screen a grant inquiry in steps — organization, request size, and a short narrative — before you send guidelines or decline.

grantfoundationfundingloi

Foundations that publish a generic contact form drown in 20-page PDFs. This GRTforms template is a letter of interest in steps: who you are, what you would ask for, and a short narrative — not a grant award.

Who it is for

Foundation staff and corporate giving desks who still invite full proposals by hand.

When to use it

Link it from “how to apply” when the next step is a conversation or an LOI, not a portal upload. Sponsorship Request is a company buying benefits. Scholarship Donor is a person creating a fund, not asking for one.

What this form collects

Contact and organization, program area, amount, population, prior-funding flag, a required narrative, optional decision date, and an optional PDF.

  • Family foundation “inquiry first” page
  • Corporate giving pre-screen
  • Community foundation program-area routing

Frequently asked questions

Is a submission a proposal?

No. It is interest. Say in the success copy that you will send guidelines or a decline. Do not imply an award.

Why split this into steps?

Orgs that cannot name an amount or a population usually cannot write a proposal. The page breaks let them stop before the essay if they are not ready.

Can I require a 990?

The PDF is optional so a new org can still inquire. Make it required after you clone the form if your board insists.
