Respondent confirmation email

Optionally email the person who submitted the form. The toggle is off until you add an email field and turn it on.

Turn it on

In the builder Settings tab, use Send confirmation email to respondent. Choose which email field holds the recipient. Saving is blocked if the toggle is on and the form has no email field.

Subject and body are plain text. Merge tags: {{form_name}}, {{answer:Email}} (field label or id), and {{submitted_at}}. Answers are escaped. Owner HTML and scripts are not rendered.

When it sends

The receipt is queued after a successful public save. It does not delay the thank-you message or redirect. Delivery uses the same email service as team notifications.

From stays on the GRTforms domain. The form name can appear in the display name. Reply-To is the account email only when that address is verified.

Account and abuse rules

Confirmation emails require a verified owner email. Unverified or brand-new accounts that have not confirmed sign-in cannot send receipts to addresses typed on a public form.

A send is skipped if the submission is marked suspicious, or if it did not pass Turnstile when CAPTCHA is required and did not pass the existing abuse checks. Honeypot fills never enqueue mail.

Rate limits: at most three confirmation emails to the same address in 24 hours, and a per-form hourly cap. Bounce and complaint suppressions are honored. Each message has one To address only.

Every email includes this footer: you received this because this address was entered on a form at grtforms.com. If this wasn't you, ignore this email.

If you received a confirmation you did not expect, ignore it. To report a form that is sending unwanted mail, contact the site owner listed in Reply-To when present, or use the security guide at IP blocking and abuse alerts.
